7 creative ways to decorate with a cake stencil

Keep Form's mission is to create and help others create. Something new and unusual is always creative. And in the incredibly fast confectionery world, creativity is the main weapon of any confectioner. We will talk about it in this article.

In this article, I'll show you how to use a cake decorating stencil with a little creativity. We will talk about non-standard methods of decorating with a stencil.

1. Be artist

Remove the stencil and paint the pattern with a brush. Not the easiest way to add charm to your creation, but definitely the most creative.

In one color or several. Whole or in fragments. There is an obvious advantage to this method. Paints can emphasize the relief and pattern, as well as hide flaws. Most likely the coating of your cake is ganache, cheese cream or butter cream. Therefore, your option is a fat-soluble colour. If you want some rich, then we will probably take kandurin, dilute it in alcohol. You can also use vodka, but ... The higher the degree of your alcohol, the denser and more metallic the color will turn out. Brush in hand and went to masterpiece.

2. Where is my airbrush?

When time is important, but you still want to diversify the decor, you can use an airbrush. Apply the stencil to the cake, and then, without removing the stencil, apply a layer of airbrush paint. Remove the stencil and get the result. You can experiment with different colors. Work with an airbrush from a distance of 4-5 cm so that the layer is dense enough, but there are no leaks. If you are still worried that you can make puddles instead of spectacular coloring, I will give you one life hack. Our foreign colleagues have long figured out how to protect themselves from trouble. Before airbrushing, place a micro-grid over the stencil. It is used for decoration, construction and needlework. It is freely available and costs a penny. The grid will not let you fill the pattern, no matter how hard you try.

Here is such a very quick way to increase the effect of your decor. With an airbrush, use a colour that suits your cream.

3. Shine!

Without removing the stencil, sprinkle everything with food glitter, and then remove the stencil. In some cases, it looks very impressive. In addition, the assortment of food sequins at the moment is so large and diverse. It will be especially appropriate for Christmas desserts. I would opt for gold glitter on a contrasting color. From such a decor will definitely be delighted.

4. Look at the matter from a different angle.

It is absolutely not necessary to apply the stencil purely evenly and around the entire circumference. In the confectionery world, there is some kind of incomprehensible pattern: a round cake - a stencil is applied to the sidewall - ideally around the entire circumference. And, it has to be perfect. Some people are so concerned about the seam that they generally refuse to use a stencil in the decor.

Why are you so sad like the Joker used to say?

More courage! Apply in patches, layer upon layer, on the sidewall, on the top, horizontally, vertically, at an angle. Create!!!

5. Remove all unnecessary.

Seal the stencil with tape, leaving only the area you want open. For example, you can make a heart. And then apply the stencil on the cake. It is better, of course, to cut out the desired figure on the wax paper, and glue the wax paper with tape to the stencil. After all, stencils are quite delicate and may not survive peeling off the adhesive tape from the surface. For the Christmas holidays, an idea: cut a snowflake in parchment, take a fine-mesh stencil (for example, number 13) and carry out the manipulation described above. I'm sure it will turn out great.

6. Play with color.

Color your ganache in 4-5 different colors and set off a real fireworks display. That will definitely make it more interesting.

7. Combine several different stencils on the cake
